Martin Kaymer's meteoric rise to global golf stardom culminated in February 2011 when he became the No. 1 player in the world. His accomplishments included winning five times around the world, including the PGA Championship; playing for Europe's victorious Ryder Cup team; and winning the European Tour's Race to Dubai. He won twice in 2011, first at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship by eight shots and again at the WGC-HSBC Champions in November 2011. In 2012 Martin qualified for the Ryder Cup team and went on to hole the putt that retained the trophy for Europe.
